The European Solidarity Corps “Green Human Growth Project for Action” numbered 2020-2-FR02-ESC11-018080
The conference on the European Solidarity Corps in general and the project titled “Green Human Growth Project for Action” numbered 2020-2-FR02-ESC11-018080, which is being carried out within the scope of the “European Solidarity Program Volunteering” (ESC11) in the 2020 call, was held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Conference hall on December 10th, 2021. Our University is a partner to the project from Turkey. Project coordinator Inst. Hiroko KAWAMORITA from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics gave information about the project. Hosted at OMU as a volunteer within the scope of the project, Citizen of France Marion Cohadon, shared her project and volunteering experience. Our students Alara Öztürk, Ebru Nur Aslan, Esad Sünnetçi, Manar Noser, Mukkaram Ejaz and Nouha Laffet, who volunteered in the implementation of the project, made an introductory presentation about European Solidarity Corps. In addition, Axel Ceron, a student of OMU from Mexico, shared his experiences about youth projects in their country. International Relations Office Responsible for ESC, Inst. Soner Çelik gave information about the duties of ESC Offices within the scope of the program. At the end of the conference, students’ questions were answered.
As part of the promotion of the project and European Solidarity Corps, a stand was set up on the ground floor of the Faculty Building between December7 and 9, 2021 (3 days) by volunteering students.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAPACITY IN AGRICULTURAL SECTOR IN DOKAP REGION
The aim of this project is to raise awareness about entrepreneurship among students and lecturers with the certificate programs to be implemented at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), to help establish and spread the entrepreneurial culture and to transfer successful business ideas into practice. In this way, Samsun will contribute to the goal of becoming the trade center of the Black Sea Region and employment opportunities of young people will be increased. This project, which was prepared with a holistic approach, primarily aims to increase the awareness, knowledge and skill levels of students in the basic subjects of general entrepreneurship, production, marketing and financial management. In the certificate program for academics, besides the compulsory modules, there will be project preparation, innovation management, academic entrepreneurship modules and individual mentoring.

Fulbright Specialist Prof. Dr Oya İçmeli Tükel From Cleveland State University – USA Visited OMU
The International Relations Office is currently hosting a Fulbright Specialist, Prof. Dr Oya İçmeli Tükel from Cleveland State University for the duration of 2 weeks.
The Fulbright Specialist Programme was organized by the International Relations Office in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Engineering.
Prof. Dr Oya İçmeli Tükel is an academic who has experience in both teaching and training and curriculum development in the field of Supply Chain Management and Innovation Management.
After her first week of experience at OMU, we held a meeting at the International Relations Office in order to discuss the future development action plan for collaboration between our institutions. The head of IRO, Prof. Dr Rıdvan Kızılkaya highlighted the importance of cooperation at all levels. The suggested action plan will be implemented in the near future.
The manager of the Alaçam Vocational School, Prof. Dr Kürşat Demiryürek, the host professor at OMU, also joined the meeting and discussed possible future projects, particularly in the field of Logistics and Innovation Management. The feasible action will be put into practice in the coming year.
